Meet Malia

Malia McLellan is a performer raised in New York and a 2026 graduate of the Musical Theatre BFA program at Texas State University. Born in London to a Scottish father an a Singaporean/American mom, she spent her early childhood living in the UK. At five, she crossed the pond and grew up in the suburbs outside of New York City.

Malia’s love of theatre began at age 9, sporting the orange and green of an enthusiastic Oompa Loompa in her first ever production, Willy Wonka Jr. She is incredibly grateful that she has the opportunity to train, perform, and create everyday. 

 

Through her time at Texas State, Malia developed a passion for content creation and social media marketing, and she is currently serving as the social media manager for Texas State Musical Theatre. Her interest and involvement in content creation has taught her the importance of the musical theatre business and marketing a brand.

 

Off stage, you can find Malia writing songs, traveling, scuba diving, trying new foods, indulging in an iced seasonal latte, and soaking up the sun with her family and friends.
